Beltane Incense

Beltane is a great opportunity to cleanse your house. Cleansing your house and yourself removes heavy or negative energy that sticks to you. This relieves and makes room for new experiences. Energetic cleansing is often done with New Moon, Full Moon and Celebrations of the Wheel of the Year. To cleanse your house and yourself with Beltane, it is fun to put together an incense that suits Beltane and her fertility, passion and fire. You can make this incense from:

  • Dried Rosemary
  • Dried Catnip
  • Dried Lavender flowers
  • Granular Benzoin resin

This link on YouTube shows how to make this incense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t_o48BYHe4

If you don’t have Benzoin resin, mix the herbs with Juniper Berry. Put this in an ovenproof dish, light the herbs and blow out again in such a way that it continues to smoulder. With the smoke you can cleanse your house by smudging it. First smudge yourself and then all the rooms in your house. After smudging, open windows and doors so all the smoke can disappear and you have a wonderfully cleansed house.

Other herbs associated with Beltane that you could add to your incense include:

  • Clover
  • Frankincense
  • Hawthorn
  • Ivy
  • Calendula
  • Rose
  • Rowan
  • Woodruff
  • Meadowsweet
  • Sorrel

I wish you a warm, loving and fertile Beltane♥

With love,
